Wayne is a part of the Radnor Township School District, which houses three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. This high performing district ranks as one of the top in the nation and prides itself for its specialized and unique curriculum. Students may also attend Valley Forge Military Academy & College (known historically as "Little West Point"). Valley Forge is generally an American all male boarding school for students in grades 7-12 that also serves as a co-ed junior college in the traditional military school fashion.

In addition to the Valley Forge Military Academy, students of Wayne may attend a number of other local colleges in the area, such as Cabrini College, a residential Catholic college; Eastern University, a comprehensive Christian University that integrates faith, reason and justice into their teachings; Villanova University; Bryn Mawr College; Harcum Junior College; Rosemont College; Northeastern Junior College; and the University of Phoenix-Philadelphia campus.


The Chanticleer Garden is the perfect place for any nature lover. The gardens, which are a transformation of the luxurious estate that was owned by Christine and Adolph Rosengarten, Sr., are known for their wildflowers and beautiful foliage in the fall. Highlights of the Garden include the many courtyards, a woodland garden which leads to a rare Asian-themed water garden that is engulfed by lovely perennials and the dozens of sculptures, and homemade seats and bridges that carve through the gardens' many paths and walkways.

The Main Line Symphony Orchestra is an entirely volunteer based orchestra that plays three shows a year. The Orchestra is known for its collection of eclectic musicians who perform equally eclectic shows. Pieces from previous shows have included works by Mozart, Wagner, J. Maddox, and Chadwick. The Orchestra is quite exceptional and has been regarded as one of the best local group of musicians in the area.

Wayne Avenue, which is also known as Wayne's Main Street, is a popular stop for visitors and locals alike. This charming street is home to specialty shops, bistros, bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Anthony Wayne Theater provides the latest entertainment as the central cinema in town. The Wayne Arts Center, also located on this delightful street, offers instruction in visual arts, crafts, music, dance and drama. Live performances, exhibits and lectures are also offered at the Center.

The Willows is a 47-acre exquisite estate located in Villanova, PA just a few miles away from Wayne. This serene setting is ideal for weddings, private parties, civic functions, corporate events, family reunions and other social events. The Willows is set among lush greenery, spectacular hills and a pristine, sparkling lake. The mansion itself is home to a wood-paneled library and a luxurious dining room.

Parks and Recreation

Residents of Wayne enjoy experiencing all four seasons by taking advantage of the many outdoor recreational activities provided to them by the community. For instance, the 2.41-mile multi-purpose and scenic Radnor Trail, which runs along the old P&W railroad line, is an easy to walk paved trail perfect for those looking to take a leisurely stroll, jog, or bike ride. The Radnor Trail goes through the woods and takes residents behind Encke Park, a 10-acre public park complete with baseball fields and a fence that divides the park and the John L. Cappelli driving range. The Radnor Skatepark is also connected to the park by way of a pedestrian bridge.

Fenimore Woods is a breath taking wooded park located off of the Eastern University Campus. A tranquil creek runs through the park as well as a quaint duck pond. Picnic grounds and a playground are the park's main amenities. Known for the many ducks and frogs that inhabit the pond, Fenimore Woods is recommended as the perfect spot for a family picnic and to educate the little ones on the local flora and fauna.

John L. Capelli Driving Range is a beautiful golf course located in Wayne. The course is strictly restricted to Radnor Township residents only. While the course does have a few strict rules, it is celebrated for its affordability and scenic beauty. Other area golf courses that are within distance to Wayne residents include Radnor Valley Country Club, St. David's Golf Club, and Overbrook Golf Club.
